19 Mar 25 – Episode 46 – Conversation With One Edmond Mayor Candidate

This month Keith Weber hosts as the team interviews Mark Nash, a mayoral candidate, in the upcoming city council election. Mark’s opponent, declined an invitation to meet with the Edmond Voices team on the podcast or in an unrecorded interview. NOTE: The editorial board (excluding Mark Nash) developed their questions individually and did not share them with Mark prior to taping this episode. 

3 Mar 25 – Episode 45 – Conversation with EPS Board Seat 5 Candidate

Our team visits with Marcus Jones, a candidate for the EPS district seat 5. His opponent, Jim Putnam was unavailable due to a scheduling error made by his campaign team; but the answers to the same questions asked of Mr. Jones will be available in an article in The Edmond Way.
NOTE: EV Chairman, Mark Nash, has excused himself from participating in this episode due to his Edmond mayoral race.

In this special video episode, the Edmond Voices team has a little surprise for our followers. This episode features Shannon Price, Executive Director of the Edmond Fine Arts Institute. Shannon brings us a brief history of the Institute, an explanation of the Fine Arts Institute new capital campaign, and how it all ties in to the Uncommon Ground art park. 18 July 24 – Episode 39 – Dr. Angela Grunewald with EPS

Public education in Oklahoma seems to be in the news daily right now. Edmond’s public school district superintendent Dr. Angela Grunewald is our guest this month, bringing our team up to date on the district’s successful lawsuit against the state, what the district is doing in regards to the bible in the classroom controversy, and the district’s thoughts about the city’s proposed general obligation bond issue. Additionally, we got to hear about other initiatives and news within the Edmond schools.

23 June 24 – Episode 38 – Sen. Adam Pugh joins in after the legislative session

In this episode of Edmond Voices, District 41 Sen. Adam Pugh joins the team to discuss the legislative session that ended in May. We talk education, the appropriations process, paper license tags on cars months after they expire, and several other interesting tidbits. This is a an episode you don’t want to miss if you are interested in what goes on at the state capitol.

In an episode that every student that attends UCO must hear, university president Todd Lamb sits down with the Edmond Voices team and discusses his first year at the university. Endearing stories, and the secret to getting a free cup of coffee out of the president, are just some of the things covered this month.

27 Apr 24 – Episode 36 – Pizza Talk Around The Campfire

Listen in this month for a fun-filled, food-focused episode of frivolity discussing new ownership and a new menu for a pizzeria in Edmond. Bret Kappus, who is no stranger to Edmond, has purchased Campfire Pizza & Gelato. The podcast team discusses (and samples) the new menu, future drink options, and what else is planned for this sister restaurant to the highly successful Flower Shop Winery & Pizzeria in Yukon and Chickasha.

NOTE:  Sadly Campfire Pizza has closed its doors, but the Flower Shop Winery & Pizzeria team are looking for a new Edmond location.

28 Feb 24 Episode 34 – Downtown Edmond and Stephanie Carel

Episode 34 finds the Edmond Voices team visiting with Stephanie Carel, co-owner of Silver Leaf Gems and executive director of the Downtown Edmond Business Association (DEBA). Stephanie tells the story Silver Leaf Gems; its origin and evolution over time. Then in a roundtable discussion Stephanie brings the team up to date on what is happening in downtown this year.

Deanna Boston, the CEO of the Edmond Public Schools Foundation joins the team this episode to discuss the upcoming EDIIE Awards, the growth of support given to Edmond Public Schools, and the needs of the foundation and the school district.
