Edmond Voices - Past, Present, & Future

Edmond Voices was born out of both loss and purpose. On May 6, 2020, The Edmond Sun—Oklahoma’s oldest continuous newspaper—ended its historic 130+ year run. With its closure, Edmond lost more than a newspaper; it lost a vital source of independent, local commentary. Left without a platform, the editorial board—long known for its thoughtful, community-driven perspective—faced a question: How do we keep Edmond talking?

That answer arrived soon after, when a new publication, The Edmond Way, offered a unique opportunity. The editorial board found a home, and even better, full editorial independence. Over the next few years, we published more than 40 op-eds and produced 48 podcast episodes. But in the spring of 2025, The Edmond Way closed its doors. Once again, we found ourselves without a platform—but not without a purpose.

Rather than fade quietly, we chose to step forward.

With Episode 49, Edmond Voices launched its own independent website and platform. Still entirely composed of Edmond residents and community leaders, our team remains committed to providing a space for honest, uncensored conversation about the political, educational, and cultural issues that shape our city. We carry the torch lit by The Edmond Sun and The Edmond Way, and we believe every town in America deserves a local voice that speaks to—and for—its citizens.

Today, we are proud to partner with EES Consulting, led by Erin Stevens, who brings more than four years of publishing and PR experience tailored to Edmond’s unique community.  Additionally, we are proud to continue our relationship with PPW Productions, who provides our podcast post-production work and keeps our website running smoothly.

As we move forward, we will continue to seek partnerships that support our mission, and most importantly—we’ll keep talking.

So, join us on this journey.
And above all…
Let’s Talk About Edmond!

What's Up Next On The Podcast?

Over the next few months, the Edmond Voices team will be interviewing city council members, and Dr. Josh Delich (the new EPS superintendent).  Additionally, as we look to the future, the City of Edmond will have a new city manager; which we hope to have on as a guest once he settles in.

We, of course, will intersperse local businesses and other VIPs into mix as the opportunities arise.
